Pro-Mix BX/Mycorise Pro Pro-Mix BX/Mycorise Pro is a general purpose peat-based growing medium with vermiculite and perlite, used for the cultivation of a wide variety of plant species. Mycorise Pro is a beneficial mycorrhizal fungal inoculum, Glomus intraradices, which attaches to and colonizes root systems forming a symbiosis with plants. Endomycorrhizal fungi benefit the host plant in increasing nutrient absorption (especially Phosphorus, Copper, and Zinc), reducing water stress and other stresses associated with transplanting. In exchange, the plant provides soluble sugars to the fungus. This symbiotic relationship between fungi and plants results in improved plant growth. Components of Pro-Mix BX include sphagnum peat moss (80-85% by volume) and horticulture grades of peat and perlite.
